The YURA-FMW
Series features advanced 80GHz frequency-modulated radar
technology for precise and reliable level measurement.
With a measurement range of up to 150 meters, this series is designed for
challenging industrial applications involving solids, high temperatures,
and high pressures.
An optimized
antenna design and a next-generation high-speed
microprocessor enable superior signal analysis and rapid data processing.
The result is exceptional accuracy, stability, and performance across a wide
range of operating conditions.
Working Principle
The YURA-FMW radar level sensor operates based
on the Frequency-Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) principle.
The radar emits electromagnetic waves from the
top of the tank toward the medium’s surface.
These waves are reflected back to the radar
and received by the sensor.
The frequency difference (δf) between the
transmitted and received signals is directly proportional to the distance (R)
between the radar and the material surface.
The relationship can be expressed as:
R = (C × δf) / (2 × K)
Where:
R = distance to the material surface
C = speed of light
δf = frequency difference
K = modulation slope
Since C and K are known constants, the radar
accurately calculates the distance R by measuring the frequency difference δf.
By subtracting this distance (the “empty
height”) from the total tank height, the instrument precisely determines the
actual material level inside the tank.
